Jun 1 – Jun 2 all-day
Orange County Triathlon/Duathlon

Please join us on June 1st, 2014 for Orange County Triathlon/Duathlon.

The race starts with a swim in beautiful Lake Mission Viejo for the triathletes and a quick 2k run on Aliso Creek Bike Path for the duathletes.

The bike courses make their way up El Toro Road and into Santiago Canyon where the turn around is in sight of Irvine Lake. Athletes will fly back to T2 located at intersection of El Toro Road and Marguerite.

The run course starts off downhill but don't be fooled. What goes down has to go up. Athletes will make their way back to Lake Mission Viejo via a mixture of road, trails and walking paths. Hills for sure.

Finish downhill into the parking lot at Lake Mission Viejo and sprint it out along the beach to the finish line!

Pacific Coast Triathlon/Duathlon @ Crystal Cove
Sep 7 – Sep 8 all-day
Pacific Coast Triathlon/Duathlon @ Crystal Cove | Laguna Beach | California | United States

Starting out the day in the beautiful waters of Crystal Cove this race is not to be missed.

The run up from the Pacific Ocean to T1 is sure to get your heart rate going if the swim didn't. From there, mount your bike and make your way out of Crystal Cove and onto PCH for a bike ride that is breath-taking not only in its beauty, but the course will leave you panting as well.

Off the bike and you are tackling a run course that is sure to be fun and challenging. Be prepared to run partly on the beach and then finish overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Be sure to hang out after and take in the experience.

Bike Skills / Ride / (Optional) Brunch CANCELLED @ Santa Barbara Junior High School
Mar 19 @ 7:30 am

logo1_120

Due to insufficient interest (not enough RSVPs), the clinic is CANCELLED. We typically need at least 10 to carry out a clinic. If you still desire taking a bike skills clinic, contact the SB Bike Coalition for instruction. Click on the logo to the left. They're a great organization that have worked wonders for the cycling community of SB.

We as SB Tri Club want to get you out on the road, training, enjoying the beauty of where we live (and putting you at ease as to why you pay the rent).

So first things first, whether you're the most experienced rider or hesitant to get on your bike, become a more confident rider by attending our Bike Skills / Ride / Brunch at the East Beach Parking Lot. Look for the SB Tri Club Tent.

So grateful to Measure A and the SB Bike Coalition for facilitating the event. I will reiterate, all levels are welcome and encouraged.

Couple things before you show up:

  • Please show up promptly and ready to bike at 7:30am.
  • Complete this portion of the course online at bikeed.org.
    • Understand your rights & responsibilities as a driver operating a bicycle safely and legally on public roadways. Most importantly, develop the ability to identify unsafe traffic situations and make decisions that can prevent crashes and collisions.
  • Before showing up, print and fill out The Online Waiver and bring it to the event.

We'll have a ride following the clinic and group together according to our ride intentions. I will say yet again, all levels are welcome and encouraged.

Join us for brunch afterward at East Beach Grill! So come on out for 1 or all consecutive activities!
