Friends and Fun
Members, their families and prospective members are all welcome at this event! Come get to know fellow triathletes, catch up with old friends and make new friends. Danny has a bocce ball court that will be available, and we're planning a fun game as well.
Potluck Assignments
If your birthday is in:
January - February bring an appetizer
March - June please bring a main dish
July - October please bring a side dish
November - December please bring dessert
The Club will provide beverages.
Note: this will be an outdoor event. Please bring a blanket or beach chairs to sit on as seating is limited. Wear layers as needed!
Plus: Gear Swap!
Do you have extra gear that has been taking up space? Stuff you haven't used in seasons? Bring it with you to the New Member Potluck for our annual Gear Swap!! All items that don't find a new home at the event will be donated to the UCSB Tri Club.

IT'S BACK: Battle in the Sand!
Help SB Tri Club get back the title from UCSB Tri Club. Sign up for a relay team of swimmers and runners. You can let us know if you'd prefer to swim, run or open to either or both! All levels are welcome and EVERYONE is encouraged to attend!!
The approximate swim distance is 500m ocean swim.
The approximate run distance is a 1 mile beach run.
Please sign up to participate (swim, run, both, either, volunteer to help) - HERE
Format of the event: Each club creates multiple 6 person relay teams (all women team, all men team, co-ed team), and the relay works like this: swim to run to swim to run to swim to run (3 swimmers and 3 runners per team). The club that has the most victories wins the trophy. We need as many participants as possible as we will field as many teams as possible, everyone participates!!
Look for the SB Tri Club tent on the beach in front of the Bathhouse. Help us crush UCSB Tri, then hang with the club, post race snack and beautiful sunshine provided!!
Bragging rights are at stake!

Join us for dinner at 6 PM, followed by formal meeting at 6:30 PM
Featured Speaker: Author, Coach and USA Triathlon Hall of Fame inductee, Cherie Gruenfeld.
Cherie will be speaking with us about her 30+ year career, sharing her tips on longevity in the sport of triathlon and inspiring us with her work supporting the lives of at-risk youth through her nonprofit organization, Exceeding Expectations.
Cherie is a 13-time IRONMAN world champion, multiple age group course record holder and a three-time IRONMAN 70.3 world champion. She is the founder of Exceeding Expectations, a San Bernardino-based nonprofit that encourages at-risk youth to move their lives in a positive direction using triathlon as a vehicle. The program prioritizes education, and through the support of generous donors, Cherie has been able to ensure that money will never be an obstacle for “EE Scholars” who are accepted into college.
