March Triathlon Series 2014 @ Lopez Lake
Mar 23 – Mar 24 all-day
March Triathlon Series 2014 @ Lopez Lake | Arroyo Grande | California | United States

The March Triathlon Series is the longest running collegiate triathlon in the West Coast. The event started as a senior project in 1998 and was held on campus at Cal Poly. Race participants joined from Cal Poly, Santa Barbara, and Cal Berkeley with a total of 15 racers. The spring race served as a warm up for Wildflower, which was the collegiate national championship race. Eventually, the race grew and moved to Lake Lopez, Arroyo Grande in 2004, where it transformed into the March Triathlon Series.

IRONMAN 70.3 California Oceanside
Mar 30 @ 2:00 am – 3:00 am
IRONMAN 70.3 California Oceanside @ Oceanside | California | United States

IRONMAN 70.3 California started out as an IRONMAN in 2000. Two years later it was turned into one of the first IRONMAN 70.3 events and helped launch the popularity of the distance.

Oceanside, California offers triathletes a chance to race in the city that birthed the sport in the early 1970's in Mission Bay. Oceanside is located at the northern end of San Diego's North County, which includes the beach communities of Del Mar, Cardiff, Encinitas, and Carlsbad—home to a mixture of surf, triathlon, and beach culture. Just half an hour south lies the city of San Diego, with its world-famous zoo, parks, and other attractions to fill a spring break vacation. Just two hours away from the local mountains, skiing and snowboarding are other options.

Swim, Bike, Run, Eat, Drink, Be Merry.  Train with the best, practice and test, the tradition does not rest !

This is our annual training weekend up at Lake San Antonio.

It’s a weekend of camping, training, socializing and having fun. It will either give you a chance to formalize your self with the course or remind yourself how hard the course really is!

Most people will drive up Friday afternoon and stay through midday on Sunday.

Traditionally the training is as follows:

-On Friday afternoon we swim (if you can make it up in time).
-On Saturday morning we bike the respective course that we will compete in (possibly followed by a short brick)
-On Sunday morning we run the respective course that we will compete in
-The rest of the time we Eat, Drink, Socialize, and have Fun!!

As always people of all skill levels and abilities are welcome. You can join in on whatever workouts you see fit and you do not need to be competing this year to join us!

We’ll probably do a potluck Saturday night but otherwise you’re pretty much on your own as far as food goes. If people want to get together and organize meals that’s great!

There is no need to book a group site or make reservations. We will all just grab sites in the same area. It’s very quiet at that time of year and hardly anybody is up there. We will probably camp in Lynch or Redondo Vista but look for a message on the board at the front gate when you arrive.
