Clean Up Graphic
While running along the SB Triathlon run route, we noticed a number of used masks, gloves and other debris littering the side of the path. What a shame! We want to do our part to keep one of our favorite running paths clean and enjoyable for all to use, so Santa Barbara Triathlon Club is organizing a club cleanup effort, with support from Santa Barbara Channel Keepers.

Santa Barbara Channel Keepers will provide us with bags and gloves for the cleanup. These will be available for pickup at Hazards beginning Thursday, August 27th. Please pick up at your convenience on or before August 29th.
Address: 110 Anacapa St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101
Hours: 10 AM - 5 PM Thursday - Saturday

In order to maintain appropriate social distancing, and keep the size of the cleanup zones manageable, there are three sections:
  • Bird Refuge to East Beach
  • East Beach to Skate Park
  • Skate Park to Leadbetter Beach
Each section is about a mile, and small groups can work each section. If all members of the small groups are not from the same family or quarantine "pod" you can work different sides of the road along your section to maintain social distancing. While helping with the Cleanup, please wear your mask.

The Cleanup Day will be Saturday, August 29th. You can do your cleanup anytime on Saturday! We wanted this to be flexible so that you can still participate around other commitments.

We encourage you to wear your SB Tri Club shirts and hats and share pictures with us!

Note: SB Channel Keepers does need participants to sign a Waiver and email the completed form to molly@sbck.org. You can scan it or take a picture of the completed form.
